Our people are the driving force behind Fairown’s sustainable subscription service. So, let us introduce you yet another member of our team.
This time, we chatted with Siim Loitme, our Product Owner. Siim said that he joined Fairown, because he saw the potential in our sustainable business model and liked the team. In fact, he mentions two main drivers that inspire him: the work itself and colleagues. He loved the idea of joining an early-stage start-up and hopes to see Fairown becoming the next unicorn.
Tell us about your professional background.
Before joining Fairown, I worked as a Lawyer and did business projects in different fields. Some of them were awesome and even though some failed, I got my best life lessons. When I realised that in the future everything will be related to IT, I decided to learn more about it. A couple of years later, I got my degree and landed a job as a Product Owner at Fairown.
Name some fun facts about yourself that we can’t find on your CV or social profile.
You probably won’t find these facts about me:
I love to deep dive into Excel formulas and analyses;
I once ran a theatre in Telliskivi (a hipster vibe area in Tallinn);
I prefer skiing trips to summer holiday destinations.
Why did you choose Fairown, what stood out for you?
I saw the potential and liked the people I met. I loved the idea of being part of an early-stage start-up and seeing it grow. Thinking back now, I have no regrets.
How has your onboarding process been?
I joined Fairown in the very early days of business when different processes, including onboarding, hadn’t taken shape yet. So, my onboarding was like a movie: I got my access rights, a bunch of API documents, and an assignment to start analysis of a bank integration. The official onboarding took around 20 minutes. I can say that I was thrown into the water and I had to learn how to swim. But I liked it a lot. Everyone was very friendly and supportive. If I had any questions or needed help, I could always count on the team.
What drives and inspires you the most in your daily work?
There are two main drivers: the work itself and my colleagues.
I get to work with many high-priority tasks from scratch. My work is very challenging and interesting at the same time. I also learn new things along the way. I never get bored, because there are always issues to be solved.
I love to come to the office every day! There hasn’t been a day when I haven’t heard good jokes or had fun with my teammates.
Where do you see yourself in a couple of years, what do you want to achieve at Fairown?
I want to get better at my job and improve my technical and project management skills. Depending on how we grow, I would like to get more responsibility and see us expand into new markets. In a couple of years, I hope to see Fairown becoming the next unicorn!
